Garry was saved on March 25, 1973 at age 12 in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. He transitioned from being a Chemical Engineer at Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati to being a Corporate Financial Analyst at Eastman Kodak here in Rochester, where he joined First Bible Baptist Church in 1991. In 2003, Garry joined the staff of FBBC as a financial counselor.
Garry is a Certified Financial Planner ™ and a Crown Financial Ministries Budget Counselor. He averages counseling about 200 families/individuals per year in confidential, free sessions. Areas of concern include budgeting, getting out of debt, retirement/ college planning, and insurance. Garry teaches a full-semester personal finance course to the seniors at Northstar Christian Academy every year and also facilitates Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, a 13-week DVD-based program covering everything one needs to know about personal finances from a Christian perspective.
Garry and his wife Karen have two daughters – Anna Lee and Deborah Lynn.
