Karen and her husband, Larry moved to Rochester in July of 1970. Having accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, they began attending First Bible Baptist Church in September of that year. Their three children, Erica (Entner), Chris, and Sarah (Atkins) grew up here and attended Northstar Christian Academy from Kindergarten through graduation.
In 1976 Karen began working part time in the FBBC church office; then in 1981 went to Northstar, first working as an aide in the elementary classes, then teaching in the high school and finally working in the office as receptionist. Karen and Larry also served in the Northstar Booster Club cooking for the sports ministries during this time, then moved to the Grace & Truth Sports Park with their daughter, Sarah as the first concessions director.
In April of 2001 the Lord directed Karen back to the financial office to serve as a financial secretary for the missions accounts and for the Northstar tuition accounts. Currently she continues to manage the missions accounts, North Star Bible Institute accounts, and performs general accounting functions for the church as well as administrates the new computerized people-management system.
Karen & Larry enjoy spending special times with their grandchildren, Max, Sammy and Torrie, and traveling together.
