Greetings from Guatemala, The Lord continues to open doors and they all have blessings. It’s more exciting than Price is Right (Is that still on? God’s Program is!)
1. Cathy has been asked to minister in a private school close to home teaching music and English. We have permission to pray and use the Bible as much as we like. It’s a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people for the cause of Christ.
2. The ladies Bible studies are going well. One of the ladies from the Thursday morning class was baptized this month along with 3 others! We are praying for 4 catholic ladies from the Friday evening class to get saved Paola, Ingrid, Ernestina and Vicky. 3. Our Saturday afternoon youth group called "Chicas de Promesa" is growing with the girls forming an autoharp choir. Another activity was making home made personal pan pizzas. We are praying for Christina, Katy, Sandy, and Michel. 4. We are working with music program in the zone 18 church with a choir and orchestra. The folks from there have been coming to our music school every Saturday morning. It sounds like the philharmonic orchestra is warming up with everyone playing keyboards, violins, and guitars with different songs all at the same time. They are preparing for an evangelistic concert in their church the end of April. 5. One of the men volunteered to head up a Sunday Morning Soccer course for kids before Sunday School. He was the only one to commit to it besides me but by the second Sunday we had five more men helping. One of the guards from the street security was watching the first Sunday and last week he told me that his family is going to begin coming to our church. (He wants his daughter to learn soccer.) 6. We are in the process of expanding the space in the print shop so we can better “process” the tracts being made there and using teams when collating and stapling are required. 7. One of our earlier prayer requests has been for an open door to the new Apartment towers being built a block from us. The apartments are selling for $100,000 each. The towers are not finished yet but there are five families already living there and this week a lady from there stopped to see if I’d give Bible Studies there. She heard that I was teaching the men in the Condominiums. She also asked about activities for her teenagers. Door number 7. One of the men in the Bible Studies, Ramon, told me last week he’d like me to preach in his home town off the coastal highway to El Salvador. He wants his people to hear the Gospel and he’ll be setting that up.
Please pray for Cathy’s mom. Her health is declining and can't hear on the phone any more. That makes it harder for Cathy as she misses being able to talk to her.
Our son, Andy is graduating from Northstar Bible Institute in May and we are preparing to fly up to Rochester for that. Also we have planned a memorial service for Cathy’s brother who passed away. Other family members will be getting together with us and Cathy’s mom for the service.
Thank you for your prayers and support. May God Bless you. Don and Cathy Hinds
