October starts the HOT season in Zambia. Not sure if we all forgot how hot it really gets but everyone seems to be slowing down and adjusting to this extreme heat! Soon the rains will come. Many are busy preparing, planting, and waterproofing their homes.

The last month has been relatively quiet – spent most of the time with our Bible Institute students. Classes continue to go well as we are now about half way through our fall term. I have tried to up the difficulty of the classes as well as quizzes in an attempt to challenge these men to truly study God’s word and hide it in their heart! I am not sure I have made any friends in my attempt but they are starting to get the hang of it and will likely look back in appreciation. Our community service efforts this month brought us to a leper colony. As we approach, we all pray together asking the Lord for the ability and right heart attitude to serve these people. Of course, God did abundantly exceedingly more than we could ask or think – by the end of the day we were enjoying fellowship, witnessing to some, and truly serving the best we could! Please pray for our students as we seek to not only teach them the Bible but how to practically apply it.

I received a letter from a man in Nigeria. He had some how come across one of our Bible tracts. After reading it – he discussed it with some friends, those friends told other friends, which in turn told other friends. It appears in total – 149 people gathered in a classroom to discuss this little tract, and eventually all of them repented of their sin and called up on the name of Christ in faith to save them! Hallelujah! They wrote me this letter hoping that some how we could send them more materials that will help them grow spiritually and continue in their walk of faith. Please pray for these people as we attempt to build a long term friendship.

Preached at the following churches:

1.     Chilimulilo BBC
2.     Mutaba BBC
3.     Kapandwa BBC
4.     Musangashi BBC

Many have come forward and many have been saved – please pray for these people and although you may never meet them or even know their names – I am sure God will answer your prayer for them to grow in the grace and knowledge of His Son!

After preaching at one of the churches – a young man asked to speak with me. Normally when someone corners me after the service they are hoping I can help them with school fees, a bicycle, some fertilizer or something along those lines. However, this young man (Makopo Steward) was pleading with me to come back to his church so he could learn more from God’s word! His church is about 3 hours from the mission station making it difficult to fulfill his request. Please pray that somehow God will make a way for us to continue teaching and reaching people in this area with the word of God!

We will soon be planning for our 2009 schedule – please ask God to give us wisdom and discernment as we are attempting some new things in order to reach more, grow more, and become better servants of our Lord. Thank you for taking the time to pray and be a partner in the work God is doing here in Zambia and beyond!

To God be the Glory!

Lord bless
