Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior!

 

I had a little incident this week that I decided that I should write and tell you all about.

On Wednesdays, I take Spanish lessons with a tutor that lives under 2 kilometers from the school. Because I have a car, my lesson is scheduled last in the afternoon. Unfortunately, my car is being worked on so I have not been able to drive it. My lesson ran late this week, so it was past 8 PM when I was walking home. Lourdes, my tutor, her son and his friend were with me, so we were safe. But it was dark and part of the path was worn away from all of the rain that we have been having. I slipped and fell in a ditch. Immediately, I had pain in my shoulder from where my arm was wrenched when the bag I was carrying got caught on the bank. By the time I got home, there were intense shooting pains down my arm and I had tremors as well. I was concerned that I had dislocated my shoulder and/or maybe done nerve damage of some sort. So, I called Mr. Smith, our director, and he made arrangements for an ambulance to come get me. A friend, Hayley, and her Mom, who is visiting, went with me to the hospital.

 

Praise the Lord - nothing is broken! However, I severely bruised my shoulder. I now have a brace on that completely inhibits movement in my right arm. Thankfully, the pain is relatively minimal. But my life has been completely turned upside down because I can only use my left hand.

 

I have received tons of support from the Pinares community, which has blessed me abundantly. I am praying that God will be greatly glorified as a result of my troubles. I am thankful that the accident was not worse and that the Lord has guided my reaction to it.

 

Please pray that God's purposes will direct this situation. Also, please pray for my future visits with the doctor. He thinks that he saw some inconsistences in bone matter on the

x-ray and he wants me to get some other tests done.
