Jesus is born."
"We will praise Him."

How would you like to greet your friends and neighbors with those words this season?  Well, in L'viv, it is the standard greeting one gives and returns to those he greets during this time of the year.  Unfortunately, it is a vain repetition for most people, as they don't realize the truth and power behind their words.   For us who know the wonder and glory of the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ let us say unashamedly and with joy, "Jesus is born.  We will praise him".

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

These past few months have been a little different for me than my previous 4 1/2 years here in Ukraine. The desire and major direction of my ministry has always been with children, yet this fall God has pulled me back from that focus somewhat and allowed me to concentrate on some other ministries. I have been enjoying the time I am spending correcting and mailing the Bible lessons to the 130 students we have actively enrolled. Many times we get a lesson returned with a note of thanks for the availability and helpfulness of this course. We have also restarted a Tuesday evening Bible study with an English club precursor, followed by a time of tea and fellowship. It has drawn several new faces, and we are encouraged by the turnout and interest of those attending.

In my previous letter I mentioned that I am helping out with the Bardwell children while Laurel is in the states with their youngest child. After some testing and consultation, it has been determined that Benaiah has some physical problems that need closer attention. The family will be taking a six month furlough to address these needs and treatment options, as well as visiting supporting churches when able. Since they will be returning to the states in time for Christmas I have decided to tag along and celebrate the holidays with my home church and family. I will be in and out of Rochester, visiting my parents and other family members throughout the month of January. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and sharing with you the blessings of our faithful Lord. Until that time, may God bless you and keep you in his tender care.

Your fellowservant and missionary to Ukraine,

Denise Hutchison
