May has been a great month in which we have seen the Lord do much. Although the temperatures in Zambia are cooling off for our short “winter” season, our Bible Institute, ladies teachings, and evangelism are all heating up nicely. We are just a couple of weeks into our 2nd Bible Institute term for 2009. The Lord has brought us a couple new students and overall it seems we have a very serious group of 15 men enrolled in our three year program.

Last week, we had a graduation for our PTC (Pastor’s Training Course). This was a program put in place many years ago by bro. Bonner to help better equip rural pastors with God’s word. The teaching for this course is done in one of the local vernacular languages. This program has gone a long way in helping to really root and ground many pastors that would not other wise have a legitimate chance of gaining the Biblical knowledge necessary to lead the church of God. In all, we had 40 men graduate and 11 men ordained to the gospel ministry – it was quite a celebration!!

Ministered at the following churches:

1.     Kabumuba Baptist – this church is growing and excited. The pastor is newly married. Him and the wife have a sincere desire to edify the saints and grow the work God has given to them.
2.     Agape Baptist – It was a great blessing to be at this church. The Lord blessed the service as well as the 8 people that were baptized.
3.     Mpongwe Central Baptist – This church meets in a school room on Sundays and is just now starting a building project. I preached a message from Hebrews and 1 man came forward immediately to receive forgiveness of sin and start his life of fellowship with Christ.
4.     Kafulafuta Baptist – Bro. Sarra and I both preached together at this church on Sunday for the graduation ceremony. It was a wonderful time as the Spirit of God seemed to weave everything perfectly together!

Prayer Requests:

1.     God to use our men mightily to fight against the sin, corruption, and traditions that are hindering the church.
2.     God to spiritually heal in some disciplinary situations that have recently taken place.
3.     Preparations for our upcoming Bible conference to come together and many to be saved!
4.     Savannah, Lorna, & Karen as they work to build up and encourage the women with Biblical understanding.
5.     The Lord to provide more laborers for this harvest.

We appreciate the sacrifice many of you make so we can stay on the mission field and accomplish the purpose God has given to us. We pray for you often and look forward to seeing God work in and through your lives!
