Luke 15:10 “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

Dear Fellow-laborers-

Greetings in the blessed and victorious name of our Savior Jesus Christ! He has proven Himself faithful to us over and again since our arrival on the mission field, and we have many praises to report. My wife led her first Deaf South African woman to the Lord in the end of January. I preached about the Prodigal Son at the church in Pretoria that morning, and Christina, who had been coming for some time, understood the Gospel and received Christ as her Savior. Praise God!

The nephew of our ministry partner Chris Radebaugh was falsely accused of a crime in December, and was put in jail. He has been there for two months, and we are praying for his March 10th court date, that he would be released. Would you join us in prayer? This has been a difficult trial for everyone involved, but Michael is in good spirits, and continues to minister to those around him.

Through his imprisonment, the Lord opened the door for me to visit with a Deaf prisoner, Sandile. On our second visit I brought a book with me that clearly explains the Gospel with pictures. I showed it to him, along with Scripture, and he wanted forgiveness for his sins. He prayed to receive Christ! Please pray for his growth, and for his life when he is released from prison.

Another blessing from our new contacts at the prison is that Rock of Ages, an American ministry to prisoners, has agreed to come in May to train South African pastors to minister to those in jail. They are providing all materials at no cost. What a mighty God we serve!! Please pray that other churches, hearing churches, here would get on board as well.

I had the opportunity in January to visit one of forty-five Deaf schools here. The Deaf school in Hammanskraal has over 400 children. They love to have visitors, and have many questions about the Bible and the Gospel. We would ask you to pray that we would continue to have an open door there.

Just last week I started teaching in the Deaf Bible College. What joy fills my heart to be able to equip future Deaf leaders with the Word of God! They ask many good questions, and I am really enjoying myself. Please pray for them to study hard, and truly use this time to hide God’s Word in their hearts.

One Deaf student, Prince, and myself will be starting a Bible study on the South side of Johannesburg in the middle of this month. Please pray for Deaf people to come, and for the Lord to direct us as we start out. It will be a learning experience for both of us. There is a hearing church who is donating the use of their building, and that is such a blessing!

Our children are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my wife’s Father. He will be visiting with us in April. He will arrive on the thirteenth. Please pray for a safe arrival, and a wonderful time of fellowship with him. We know our girls will be so blessed to have him here, as he is indeed a favorite of theirs.

One challenge we have faced since being here is deciding where to focus our time. There are just so many opportunities to serve! We could be out of our house seven days a week ministering, but we know that the Lord would have us keep a balance with home life too. Please pray for us that we would do God’s will with every opportunity that presents itself to us. We need discernment.

We cannot say enough thanks for all the letters, cards, and packages we have received since our arrival. We know you are praying for us, and for that we are eternally grateful. May God richly bless you as you serve Him!

In Christ’s Amazing Love,

Jimmy Tsoukalas
