SUMMARY:Women's Life Groups
DESCRIPTION:Spring Women’s Life Groups are starting up soon! Check out all the information below. Life groups are a great way to learn more about God and His Word in a small group setting\, as well as develop friendships with other women in our church. We would love to have you join us! If you have any questions\, please reach out: womensministry@fbbc.info. \nThe studies are listed by start date. \nSign Up For A Life Group Here \nSTUDIES AVAILABLE: \nThe Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst \nSynopsis: Are you tired of living with the stress of an overwhelmed schedule and aching with the sadness of an underwhelmed soul? Do you find yourself unable to say no even when you should? Are you stuck under the weight of endless demands and responsibilities? \nThere’s a big difference between saying yes to everyone\, and saying yes to God. If we take time to slow down and rise above the rush of the world’s endless demands\, we can rest assured that God’s wisdom will help us make decisions that will still be good tomorrow. Lysa has learned what it means to live out the purpose God has in store for you\, and demonstrates the incredible power of two words–yes and no–and the way that these simple\, daily decisions can shape the story of our lives. \nAuthor: Lysa TerKeurst\nLeaders: Jaime Summerlin & Lisa Campbell\nWhere: Greece\nStart Date: March 10\, 2025\nDay/Time/Length: Mondays | 6:30PM | 6 weeks\nCost: $11\nCapacity: 8 women \n_______________________ \nMy Story\, God’s Glory by Julie Tsoukalas \nSynopsis: We all have parts of our story that we fast forward through\, or wish we could delete when we talk to others. However\, seeing the pain of our past in the light of Christ’s work in our lives is encouraging and empowering! Every part of our story can bring glory to God. When we shy away from sharing how much God has changed us and what He’s saved us from\, we’re really robbing Him of the glory He is due. \nJoin us as we dig into the Scripture and learn how to overcome shame\, how you can make a big difference in the lives of others\, and how even our weaknesses can glorify God. You’ll also learn how to better share your story\, hear from other women of First Bible\, and get encouragement through prayer and fellowship. \nAuthor: Julie Tsoukalas\nLeaders: Julie Tsoukalas and Sia DeRoo\nWhere: Greece\nStart Date: March 13\, 2025\nDay/Time/Length: Thursdays | 7:00PM | 6 weeks\nCost: $10\nCapacity: 20 women \n_________________________ \nEvery Body Matters by Gary Thomas \nSynopsis: Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Do you feel run down physically\, emotionally\, and spiritually? What if exercise and properly feeding our bodies isn’t as much about physical health as it is about honoring the God who made us? \nIf we are going to be holy\, useful to the mater\, and prepared to do any good work\, we are going to have to let go of what we’ve always done\, and take better care of our bodies! Gather with other likeminded women for 9 weeks of learning what God’s Word says about this topic\, plus get in some time of exercise! Wear something comfy\, bring a water bottle & a willing mind\, and let’s go! \nAuthor: Gary Thomas\nLeader: Savannah Pestke\nWhere: Hilton\nStart Date: March 13\, 2025\nDay/Time/Length: Thursdays | 6:00PM | 9 weeks\nCost: $11\nCapacity: 20 women \n________________________ \nKeys to Freedom by Mercy Multiplied \nSynopsis: The Keys to Freedom study from Mercy Multiplied is for you! In this study\, believers will become equipped and empowered to live free and stay free- to be whole\, restored\, transformed\, and ready to impact our world with a message of hope. \nThis study will take you on an eight-part\, interactive journey with God to explore hearing His voice\, committing to and connecting with Christ\, renewing your mind\, choosing to forgive\, healing life’s hurts\, breaking generational patterns\, using your authority in Christ\, and maintaining life-long freedom. Join us to grow and learn with other women from First Bible. \nAuthor: Mercy Multiplied\nLeaders: Mikayla Lang & Rebecca Girard\nWhere: Hamlin\nStart Date: March 15\, 2025\nDay/Time/Length: Saturdays | 1:30PM | 8 weeks\nCost: $15\nCapacity: 8 women

SUMMARY:Hurricane Relief Donations
DESCRIPTION:Our Wednesday offering this week was for Hurricane Relief. If you missed it\, you can click here and choose “Wednesday Offering”. \nYou have most likely seen the devastation across the southern states with the recent hurricanes and flooding. We have the opportunity to be a blessing financially\, and also help with gathering and donating items toward disaster relief. There are churches on the ground in North Carolina who are distributing the goods\, and there are people in place to bring the items we collect down to those churches. \nPlease also keep all the workers\, families\, and volunteers in your prayers. This is a time of great loss for many people. Pray that the Lord would give His people opportunities to share His goodness and reach out in faith to those around them. \nIf you’d like to bring needed items\, please check out the list here. \n– Donated items will be collected now until October 23rd.\n– Place items on the tables outside the Prayer Room in the Commons\n– Donations are accepted before or after services\n– Or during church business hours: M-Th 9am – 4pm | Fri 9am – 2pm

SUMMARY:Solar Eclipse 2024
DESCRIPTION:In case you haven’t heard\, Hilton is in the direct path of a total solar eclipse coming to Rochester on April 8th. And our church is right in the heart of the path! Monroe County is expecting an influx of over 500\,000 people to our area. We want to open our parking lot for people to view the eclipse\, and use it as an outreach event. \nWe plan to open the lot with free parking at 9am on Monday the 8th\, and close it at 4pm. We will allow a limited number of cars to leave space for people to set up chairs\, etc. We will be offering small goodie bags that include eclipse glasses\, tracts\, etc. We are hoping to draw many with the goal of reaching them for the sake of the Gospel.  We are first and foremost asking you to pray. We have created a tract that is available in the Commons. Grab some and hand them out everywhere! Pray for it to be useful to reach people for Jesus. Pray also for positive interactions with those who will be on our property\, and pray for those who will be volunteering. None of us knows exactly what to expect\, but we are trusting that God will allow us to reach out in His name for His glory.

SUMMARY:Biblical Worldview Event
DESCRIPTION:To continue our focus on developing a biblical worldview\, we’ve invited Dr. Terry Mortenson from Answers in Genesis to be with us January 28th.  \nAnswers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e.\, Christianity-defending) ministry dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. Their ministry runs the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Terry Mortenson specializes in the creation-evolution controversy and will address current hot-button issues that we all face\, specifically issues relating to science and the Bible. \nTerry will be preaching in both 8:30** & 10:30 morning services. There will also be two evening sessions at 6:00PM** and 7:30PM**.\nThe content of both morning services will be the same. The evening sessions will each cover a unique topic\, so plan to attend both. You do not have to attend the morning service for the evening sessions to make sense; they are independent of each other. We hope you’ll plan to join us! \nPlease Note: There is no child care provided for the evening sessions. This is a great opportunity for children who can sit through a service to be in attendance. Jeff Keaton challenged us to train our children early\, and this is a great opportunity to do just that. \n** ASL provided

SUMMARY:Zambia Missions Trip 2024 Support
DESCRIPTION:Nine individuals from First Bible have the opportunity to minister in some way in Zambia\, Africa with the Jalowiecs! We are excited for them\, and look forward to hearing and seeing all the Lord will accomplish through their efforts. There are a few ways that we as a church family can get behind them and support the mission. Keep reading to see how you can get involved! \nPRAYER COMMITMENT:\nOne of the most necessary and powerful aspects of living out our faith in a real\, tangible way is to seek the face of God in prayer on behalf of others. Prayer is the fuel that makes any spiritual endeavor possible! Your prayers are a foundational and essential part of God’s plan being accomplished. \nIf you sign up on our form you will be sent regular prayer updates\, but in the meantime you can pray: \n\nThat the Word of the Lord may have free course. (2 Thessalonians 3:1)\nThe Lord would allow the team to be used to bring in a harvest for His glory. (John 4:34-35; Matthew 9:37-38)\nOur team would be united and work together for the sake of the Gospel. (Philippians 1:27)\n\n\nPROVISION COMMITMENT:\nEvery missions trip costs money. That’s just the reality of overseas travel and hosting events. In order to accomplish all the team is setting out to do\, each person will have to raise close to $3\,000 each (not including medical needs\, passport\, and other costs). If you are able to help with these expenses\, it would be such a blessing. Here are the goals for the trip: \n\nPreach at multiple locations prior to Resurrection Sunday\nHost mini-conferences on Resurrection Sunday\nPrepare food items to serve the people\nPrepare equipment and vehicles prior to the team’s arrival\n\nClicking through to the form gives you the option to donate to the general fund for the trip\, or to designate your giving to specific individuals. May God bless you as you consider\, and cheerfully give to help this trip to Zambia be a success. May the Lord be glorified! \nIf you’d like to give by cash or check\, please fill out an envelope located at each of the giving boxes in the Sanctuary. Please indicate in the memo: Zambia Trip 2024 – [Name of person being supported] \nSUPPORT THE TRIP

SUMMARY:Mission: Christmas
DESCRIPTION:You’re probably used to seeing Operation Christmas Child (OCC) boxes available by now. Well\, this year we’re trying something new! We would like to directly bless one of our supported missionaries and their Gospel efforts\, so we hope you’ll join us for Mission: Christmas! \nOur focus this year is Dr. and Mrs. Kakish\, who minister to orphans in Palestine and Israel. Dr. Kakish himself was orphaned in Jordan as a young child\, and obviously has a heart for children who find themselves in the same situation. \nEvery Christmas they have a big celebration. We want to help provide what they need\, as prices are higher now due to the current conflict. Since shipping things is out of the question\, we will be sponsoring virtual boxes. This means we donate the money\, and Dr. Kakish purchases the supplies they need locally. This allows more funds to go directly to the mission\, and also puts finances into their local economy. This is also a great way for you to get in some end-of-year giving! \nHere’s how you can help: We’d like to sponsor ONE HUNDRED gift boxes for the children\, and also TWENTY-FIVE food boxes for people in their surrounding areas who are struggling to feed their families. Click the button below to support the cause. If we can blow past this goal\, that would be amazing!! Be sure to check out the poster in the Commons to keep up with our progress! \nGift Boxes- $25 each\nFood Boxes- $100 each \nDONATE
