SUMMARY:Solar Eclipse 2024
DESCRIPTION:In case you haven’t heard\, Hilton is in the direct path of a total solar eclipse coming to Rochester on April 8th. And our church is right in the heart of the path! Monroe County is expecting an influx of over 500\,000 people to our area. We want to open our parking lot for people to view the eclipse\, and use it as an outreach event. \nWe plan to open the lot with free parking at 9am on Monday the 8th\, and close it at 4pm. We will allow a limited number of cars to leave space for people to set up chairs\, etc. We will be offering small goodie bags that include eclipse glasses\, tracts\, etc. We are hoping to draw many with the goal of reaching them for the sake of the Gospel.  We are first and foremost asking you to pray. We have created a tract that is available in the Commons. Grab some and hand them out everywhere! Pray for it to be useful to reach people for Jesus. Pray also for positive interactions with those who will be on our property\, and pray for those who will be volunteering. None of us knows exactly what to expect\, but we are trusting that God will allow us to reach out in His name for His glory.

DESCRIPTION:To continue our focus on developing a biblical worldview\, we’ve invited Dr. Terry Mortenson from Answers in Genesis to be with us January 28th.  \nAnswers in Genesis is an apologetics (i.e.\, Christianity-defending) ministry dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. Their ministry runs the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Terry Mortenson specializes in the creation-evolution controversy and will address current hot-button issues that we all face\, specifically issues relating to science and the Bible. \nTerry will be preaching in both 8:30** & 10:30 morning services. There will also be two evening sessions at 6:00PM** and 7:30PM**.\nThe content of both morning services will be the same. The evening sessions will each cover a unique topic\, so plan to attend both. You do not have to attend the morning service for the evening sessions to make sense; they are independent of each other. We hope you’ll plan to join us! \nPlease Note: There is no child care provided for the evening sessions. This is a great opportunity for children who can sit through a service to be in attendance. DESCRIPTION:Nine individuals from First Bible have the opportunity to minister in some way in Zambia\, Africa with the Jalowiecs! We are excited for them\, and look forward to hearing and seeing all the Lord will accomplish through their efforts. There are a few ways that we as a church family can get behind them and support the mission. Keep reading to see how you can get involved! \nPRAYER COMMITMENT:\nOne of the most necessary and powerful aspects of living out our faith in a real\, tangible way is to seek the face of God in prayer on behalf of others. Prayer is the fuel that makes any spiritual endeavor possible! Your prayers are a foundational and essential part of God’s plan being accomplished. \nIf you sign up on our form you will be sent regular prayer updates\, but in the meantime you can pray: \n\nThat the Word of the Lord may have free course. (2 Thessalonians 3:1)\nThe Lord would allow the team to be used to bring in a harvest for His glory. (John 4:34-35; Matthew 9:37-38)\nOur team would be united and work together for the sake of the Gospel. (Philippians 1:27)\n\n\nPROVISION COMMITMENT:\nEvery missions trip costs money. That’s just the reality of overseas travel and hosting events. In order to accomplish all the team is setting out to do\, each person will have to raise close to $3\,000 each (not including medical needs\, passport\, and other costs). DESCRIPTION:This fundraiser is being held at the Sports Park the weekend of August 12-13th. The purpose is to raise money for the Northstar Christian Academy baseball and softball teams\, and $40\,000 has been raised in the last three years! We hope you’ll take part in attending\, playing softball\, making a donation\, or helping out during the weekend. It’s always a great time of fun and fellowship.
