Join us in the #WORD365 journey in 2018!
This year we will be encouraging the reading of one of two different plans. One is designed to read through the whole Bible throughout the year. The other is designed to read through the New Testament throughout the year. Both are available on the YouVersion Bible app. We’ll be using the hashtag #WORD365 again to funnel all our stories and testimonies into one common place.
What reading plans are we using for 2018?
The Solid Life “Whole Bible” Reading Plan produced by The Rock. This plan helps you understand the entire Bible. The Old Testament is read once in near chronological order. The New Testament begins with Luke and Acts, the first 60 years of New Testament history. Psalms are often read on the same day as corresponding events. Historical books such as the Kings are read along with contemporary prophets.
The Solid Life “New Testament” Reading Plan produced by The Rock. This plan is perfect for beginners or those redeveloping their daily discipline. You will complete the entire New Testament (NT) in a year, and read a few important NT books twice.
Both of the Solid Life Reading Plans read the same NT chapters each day, so you can easily interact with others about the daily reading.
We have designed a reading and prayer journal for you to use with these plans. This journal will allow you to make notes during your reading and manage your prayer list in 2018. They are $5 each and can be purchased online here. (Booklets can be picked up in the Commons on Sunday mornings.)
How Can I Stay Connected in 2018?
If you’ve never committed to a Bible reading plan, and even if you have, we cannot emphasize enough, the importance of sharing the journey with someone else. Here are a few ways you can do that!
- Use #word365 – Throughout the year, there are going to be a number of people that are using the #word365 hashtag to share things that they have learned in their Bible reading. Don’t be shy, just jump right on in the conversation on your favorite social network (ok, just the big ones like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and maybe even Google+).
- Join a Life Group – In a Life Group, you will find a group of people that will positively encourage you throughout the year in your Bible Reading Plan. This small group setting will be such a help to you. You can check out and sign up for a Life Group here www.fbbc.info/lifegroups
- Sign up for Discipleship – Our Discipleship Tracks have been designed to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and others. Whether you are a beginner in your relationship with Jesus, or a life-long follower, these targeted tracks will help you in your spiritual journey.
