Greetings!

It has been a couple of weeks since I was last able to write. We have been losing power a lot over the last few weeks. It often goes out for a full evening. We've also lost internet at times in addition to the power outages. I have been reminded often about how reliant we become to conveniences. I am more thankful now because of the inconveniences we have experienced!

Praises:

  • I was able to spend a day at the beach a couple weeks ago. It was nice to get to know some of the new teachers a bit better.
  • I've been able to spend some time with the parents of my students. I have enjoyed getting to know some of them.
  • I'm thankful for the safety that God provides for me. I hear so many horror stories of things that can happen - robberies, muggings, etc. I'm thankful that God has kept me safe and out of danger.
  • I have started going to a tutor for Spanish. I'm not sure how much my Spanish has improved but my confidence in speaking certainly has grown. I find that I am understanding more as well. What a difference the language acquisition will mean to ministering to the families of my students!
  • I have had a lot of expenses lately which has caused some concern about finances. I have been trusting God's provision regardless of the things that I have seen. Thanks to the Lord for his amazing provision!
  • I have been struggling with an infection on my foot for a couple of months. (When I thought that it was healing in July, it returned.) I think that it is finally clearing up!

Prayer Requests:

  • The political situation here in Honduras is pretty unstable. Pray that the Lord will intervene to help stabilize things.
  • Pray for the unity of the Pinares staff. Pray that each one of us will submit to the Lord's direction in our relationships one with another.
  • Pray for the teachers that we still need - a 4th grade teacher, a 3rd grade teacher, and an elementary substitute.
  • Pray for my student, Allan. He struggles with paying attention, so he has trouble learning the materials. He doesn't seem to have much parental support. Also pray for my student, Stephanie, who is failing 4 subjects. :-(
  • Continue to pray for my family - for the salvation of their souls.
  • I am having trouble with my car. I took it in for servicing, and it came back in worse shape. I am trying to find a reliable mechanic, but it hasn't been easy. I've spent quite a bit of money in this area, and my car sits in the parking lot, because I'm nervous about blowing the transmission.

Thanks for your prayers!

Your missionary to Honduras,

Jenny Sanderson
