What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus? Simply stated, it’s following Jesus- but what does that look like?
Jesus had twelve men He chose to invest in, and He taught them to follow the ways of God. He spent three years showing them what serving others looks like, how to pray, how to minister to people in their hurts and sorrows, how to live faithfully, suffer persecution, and live surrendered to the will of God.
That is what discipleship relationships are all about. A person more mature in their faith takes someone younger or newer in their faith, and teaches them what they know about how to live for God.
As we learn more about who Jesus is through the Bible and discipleship, we begin to understand how to follow Him. As we learn to follow Jesus, we are compelled to lead others to Him. This becomes a lifestyle of discipleship.
We have designed our Discipleship Booklets to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus and others. When used in a discipleship format, these booklets help lay a foundation of Bible knowledge to give believers confidence in a wide variety of spiritual topics.
Your discipler will also help you get involved in serving, evangelism, and “show you the ropes” of the faith. Whether you are new in your relationship with Jesus, or are a long-time follower, discipleship will help you on your spiritual journey.
We believe discipleship is critical for all believers. However, due to limited resources, members of First Bible are given first priority. Thank you for understanding.
