Arise Ministries
New York Association of Christian Schools
I will hit two milestones in my life in 2018: (1) I turned 70 years old on January 26; and (2) I will observe my 50th year in the ministry in August. Neither seem possible to me, but I have to say that it has been a wonderful journey. And the best part is the promise of God that the best is yet to come in glory!
2018 will be and already has been a busy year.
- My preaching schedule has been full, and I have meetings scattered through out the year.
- My email newsletter, “Arise,” is gaining subscribers. Several pastors tell me that they either resend it or print it for their members. Darrell Zickafoos continues to be a tremendous help with this project.
- I added a couple of brochures to my “Truth About…” series (“Government” and “Blue Lives Matter”). That brings the total to 22.
- I am teaching the Gospel of John at North Star Bible Institute on Wednesday nights.
- Calls, visits with pastors and administrators, etc. keeps me busy each week.
I am planning on three main events for the New York Association of Christian Schools this year:
May 1 – A Leadership Conference for Pastors and Administrators. The New York State Education Department is changing the regulations for Non-Public Schools, and our schools need to be prepared. The new regs are expected to be released in April.
October 4-5 – Christian Educators’ Conference with
And three Student Leadership Conferences (Western NY on October 29, New York City on November 1, and Eastern NY on November 5.
Besides helping me, Barb’s full-time job is taking care of her mother. The eliminates her traveling with me on Sundays unless I am preaching in the Rochester area.
I am occasionally asked, “When are you going to retire?” When I can no longer be effective in these ministries. My goal is simply to “finish my course” (2 Timothy 4:7)
