Seven Ways to Pray for Missionaries
1. Relationship with God
- Faithfulness in Bible study and prayer
- Freshness in their walk with God and focus on Jesus
- Fullness of the Spirit, yielding to Him.
2. Family
- Healthy relationship in marriage or contentment in singleness
- Wisdom as parents; education of children
- Good ties with family and friends back home
3. Health
- Good physical health
- Safety in travel and from other dangers
- Emotional/spiritual strength in times of discouragement
4. Adapting
- Learn the local language
- Get used to the climate, food, and lifestyle
- Patience in, understanding of, and love for a different culture.
- Becoming all things to all men to save some.
5. Ministry
- God to open doors and hearts for the Gospel
- The Spirit’s guidance in all things
- Souls saved, disciples made, churches planted, national leaders developed
- More laborers to be raised up, local or foreign
6. Relationships with Others
- Good communication, openness, and understanding
- Approach all people in a spirit of humility for the sake of the Gospel
- Mutual building up of love and unity in the Spirit
7. Country of Service
- National and local political leaders
- Peace and safety so the Gospel may spread
- Openness to Christian activity
- National Church to grow strong and effective
