The Best of Summer’s Best Days

The Best of Summer’s Best Days

One of the best things about summer as a child is all the fun free time at your disposal. But here at FBBC, we set aside a week for the best of the best of times that we call “Summer’s Best Days”. This year, almost 170 children came to participate in games, crafts, activities and Bible lessons. Most importantly, they left having heard truths from Scripture that will last a lifetime. Two children specifically, placed their faith and trust in Christ. What a big win for Christ’s church!

We wanted to extend an extra special and super big THANK YOU to all of our 80+ volunteers. From our CIT’ers (Counselors In Training) to our adult leaders to those on our support staff who worked behind the scenes—you know who you are, and better yet, God does too. We are not exaggerating when we say we could not have done it without you. There was so much to accomplish from setting up to tearing down and everything in between. You guys made the week special for so many children in our community.

The week concluded with a picnic on Sunday and just based on the number of hotdogs consumed (What?  Doesn’t everyone base attendance on hotdogs consumed statistics???) we had over 700 people in attendance! A very special thank you to Palmer foods for donating snacks. Again, our volunteers really outdid themselves.

But really, the best and biggest THANK YOU goes to the Lord. We had the entire week this year on our campus, which meant when it rained twice, we were totally okay. The weather for the picnic was perfect and allowed us all to enjoy the food, fellowship, inflatables, and lawn games provided.

Two children specifically, placed their faith and trust in Christ.

We praise God for all those who served, helped, prayed, set up, cleaned up, and showed up. It truly was some of the best days of summer!
