Missions By Design: Deeper & Wider
October 20 - October 22
Saturday (8:45 AM – 1:15 PM)
Sunday (Normal services)
Jesus Christ commands us to make disciples (Matt. 28:18–20). Jude says to build ourselves up in the faith (Jude 20–21). Peter calls us to use our gifts to serve others (1 Pet. 4:10). Paul tells us to speak the truth in love so that our church will become mature (Eph. 4:13, 15). Every local church should be engaged with missions—local and global.
The church should care about all suffering, but especially eternal suffering. Because the church is that unique gospel community chartered by Jesus Christ himself, we must especially labor to fulfill our unique mission to guard the gospel, proclaim the gospel, and disciple those who respond in repentance and faith to the gospel.
But what does this engagement actually look like? How can our church train, send, and support missionaries well?
Join us for our Missions by Design Conference as our special speaker Tom Messer challenges us to keep first things first — the stewardship of the gospel that remains utterly unique to the Christian church and the priority of Christian missions.
Special Guest Speaker — Tom Messer, Senior Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL.
The Church and Sports Ministry: Why sports and what methodology do we utilize to effectively accomplish the vision and purpose of ministry.
Pray, Invest & Invite: Connection is a large part of what we all long for. How can we impact our neighbors/community/world in practical ways? How do we make meaningful connections in order to speak God’s Word into the lives of people and share the Gospel naturally?
The Importance of Culture and Why it Matters: What is culture? How do we navigate its world of ideas, values, issues, artifacts, institutions, and structures while avoiding the land mines that seem to be everywhere. How do we effectively communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Discipleship: We find ourselves in an ever-changing culture and new spiritual territory. This breakout will present the principles and strategy to cultivate Scripture-driven Christians in a culture-driven world.
