FBBC TRAINING

DISCIPLER

Our established motto for discipleship at First Bible is “Making Disciple-Makers.” We have learned that it’s not enough to disciple people in book knowledge alone. What people need most is a mix of life examples and book learning. It can be considered spiritual mentoring as we walk with people along the path of knowing God. Making disciple-makers is a generational vision that recognizes the need to invest deeply in someone to prepare them to replicate themselves in someone else. In essence, it’s discipling someone to disciple someone who will then disciple someone— an ongoing growth cycle. We have four basic requirements for those who represent First Bible as a spiritual mentor:
1- They are members of FBBC.
2- They have been discipled themselves.
3- They have completed Reducing the Risk.
4- They have completed the audio training.
The audio training and other resources are found below. Our audio training lays out our foundational discipleship philosophy.  Join us for each episode as we discuss how a deeper investment in people can inspire generations for our Savior.

Disciple of Christ Assessment

We developed this assessment for Discipling Mentors to get a sense of the spiritual maturity of the person they are investing in. This is not scientific, but a way of measuring the strengths and weaknesses of an individual on their spiritual journey. This tool could be used at the very beginning of the discipleship relationship, and then again periodically over time.
